It will lift the side of the dilly up, making a 500mm wall around the base of the pot that will stop the crabs from escaping. From there the rope needs to be pulled up quickly and at a consistent rate to keep that wall in place. When it reaches the side of the boat then the user can lift the whole dilly into the boat at once making it easy to see the catch and even easier to sort.
